Job summary

Downer Professional Services in Canberra is seeking an ICT Cyber Security Specialist to support the delivery and sustainment of Defence communications capabilities. You will provide specialist cyber security engineering expertise to ensure SATCOM systems meet Defence security and accreditation requirements.

Work within a highly skilled engineering team, assess architectures, conduct risk analyses, and contribute to verification and validation activities while liaising with ICT security branches

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in ICT, Computer Science or related field.
• Experience in cyber security engineering within ICT or communications environments.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and threat analyses.
• Strong understanding of Defence security policies, frameworks and accreditation processes.
• Experience developing Security Certification and Accreditation artefacts.
• Experience supporting system accreditation through ICT Security Branch (ICTSB).
• Experience performing Verification and Validation activities for ICT or communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, developing and maintaining security-related engineering and project documentation.
• Assessing system architectures, security controls and contractor-proposed solutions.
• Conducting cyber security risk assessments, threat analyses and compliance evaluations.
• Participating in verification, validation and acceptance testing activities.
• Providing cyber security advice to project teams, capability managers and senior stakeholders.
• Liaising with the ICT Security Branch (ICTSB) to ensure compliance with Defence security requirements.
