Job summary

Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) is seeking a Network Services Officer to support the reliable operation of network and telephony services across schools and offices. The role installs, configures, monitors, maintains network infrastructure, including switching, wireless, firewalls, SD-WAN, and telephony.

The position will assist with upgrades and service improvements, support SD-WAN and other technologies, and help embed them into service delivery while

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in information technology and/or equivalent relevant experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy.
• WWVP registration and WWCC (not required at application but prior to commencement).
• Current Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, monitor, maintain, and support CACGEL’s network infrastructure and services, including switching, wireless, firewalls, SD-WAN, and telephony.
• Monitor network availability and performance, respond to incidents and service degradation, and escalate complex issues to technical specialists and service providers.
• Implement approved network security controls, undertake security and configuration checks, and support response to vulnerabilities and incidents.
• Contribute to network modernisation, upgrades, migrations, testing, and service improvements, supporting transition of new technologies into operations.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and operational reporting, share knowledge, and provide guidance to ICT Operations colleagues.
