Job summary

Aussie Broadband is seeking a Network Operations Engineer to join our 24/7 NOC in Melbourne. You’ll monitor network health, respond to incidents, and support changes to keep customers connected with a reliable digital experience.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Platforms and Support teams, applying strong networking knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux, virtualization, and containerisation to resolve issues fast and prevent outages. Training and growth are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in an ISP or large enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6, CG-NAT, MPLS, IPSEC, BGP/OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN and DNS/DHCP.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network and systems events to proactively identify issues.
• Manage incidents through troubleshooting, escalation, stakeholder communication and post-incident reviews.
• Support planned changes, maintenance and upgrades while managing risk to the network and customers.
• Identify and resolve problems proactively and reactively.
• Action service requests within operational targets.
• Spot risks to network security and resiliency and coordinate fixes across teams.
• Create and update technical playbooks, runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Platforms, Provisioning, Products and Support on incidents, changes and projects.
