Job summary

Client 1 is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to support a major Defence program. This senior role will guide cyber security obligations across the program, advising delivery teams on security requirements and supporting customer approval activities to ensure secure delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in cyber security.
  • Strong experience across GRC and Security Engineering.
  • Demonstrated cyber security engineering background.
  • Programme management experience within complex delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of cyber security standards, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working within Defence environments.
  • Understanding of CSAAF.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence technical teams, project stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cyber security obligations across a complex Defence program.
  • Provide cyber security leadership throughout the program delivery lifecycle.
  • Guide teams on compliance with cyber security requirements and frameworks.
  • Support customer approval activities, including security documentation, evidence collection, assurance activities, and accreditation processes.
  • Lead governance, risk and compliance activities across the program.
  • Partner with program management, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to strengthen security outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement of the program's cyber security posture and risk management capability.
  • Contribute to secure programme delivery by balancing security requirements with operational and project objectives.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Lead to support a major Defence program. Duties and Responsibilities

Education/Certifications required
  • Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Cyber Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Knowledge/Skills required
  • Minimum 8 years' experience within cyber security.
  • Strong experience across Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and Security Engineering.
  • Demonstrated cyber security engineering background.
  • Programme management experience within complex delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of cyber security standards, risk frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working within Defence environments.
  • Understanding of the Cyber Security Assessment and Authorisation Framework (CSAAF).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence technical teams, project stakeholders, and customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk management capabilities.
