Job summary

Cleared is seeking a Security Engineer to implement, configure and operate security controls across enterprise environments. You will work with engineering and operations teams to embed security into infrastructure, networks and applications while supporting monitoring, vulnerability management and secure solution design.

The role requires hands-on experience with ISM/PSPF/Essential Eight, strong IAM skills and the ability to collaborate in a multi-vendor environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience implementing and maintaining security controls across infrastructure, networks and platforms.
  • Experience configuring and operating security tools such as endpoint protection, monitoring and access control systems.
  • Working knowledge of Australian Government security frameworks including the Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Essential Eight.
  • Experience with system hardening, patch management, secure configuration and vulnerability management practices.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management principles.
  • Ability to integrate security into engineering and operational processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills.

  • Implement and maintain identity and access management controls.
  • Support network segmentation and secure configuration standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders within a multi-vendor environment.
  • Support compliance, assurance and audit activities through technical validation and evidence gathering.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen security posture and detection capabilities.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a Security Engineer to implement, configure and operate technical security controls across enterprise environments. This role is responsible for ensuring systems, platforms and services remain secure and compliant with organisational and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will embed security into infrastructure, networks, applications and platforms while supporting security monitoring, vulnerability management, remediation activities and secure solution design. The position also plays a key role in strengthening security controls and supporting Essential Eight uplift initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
