Job summary

UnitingSA in Adelaide is seeking an passionate NDIS Support Worker to help participants live independently, engage with their communities and pursue their goals. You’ll provide person-centred support, assist with daily living tasks, and help people find and keep meaningful employment.

You'll work in a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed setting, collaborating with families, carers and professionals to deliver holistic care while upholding confidentiality and dignity for every participant.

Qualifications

• Have a Cert III in Community Services, Disability Support, Peer Work, experience working in Mental Health or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hold a current SA driver's licence.
• Have a DHS Working with Children Check and an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Experience providing community support, one-on-one client care, and working with individuals facing complex challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Understand the NDIS framework and have knowledge of disability and mental health-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Support participants with daily living activities in line with their NDIS plans.
• Encourage community participation and help individuals build confidence in social and workplace settings.
• Provide person-centred care that respects individual choices and aspirations, using recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approaches.
• Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to deliver holistic support, including mental health and psychosocial supports.
• Uphold confidentiality, diversity awareness, and high professional standards, including appropriate boundaries and duty of care in complex situations.
