Job summary

Saab Australia is seeking a DDG Combat Systems Engineer to support the delivery of systems engineering activities for the Destroyer Capability Enhancement program. You will join a specialist team responsible for developing Engineering Change Proposals for naval systems.

The role covers requirements analysis, system architecture, physical integration, and production documentation, with interstate travel and flexible hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering.
• Experience in Systems Engineering (requirements, architecture, integration, V&V).
• Meaningful Maritime Combat Systems domain experience.
• Experience balancing complex trade spaces using formal analysis.
• Experience in Integration, Test and Evaluation of naval products.
• Eligibility for Australian NV1 security clearance and ITAR/EAR handling.

Responsibilities

• Undertake systems engineering tasks including requirements analysis, architecture development and system design.
• Contribute to physical integration through design maturation and layouts.
• Support Engineering Change Proposals and design modifications for system changes.
• Support production drawings, cable schedules and installation instructions.
• Triaging and resolving production issues, deviations and nonconformances.
• Engage in technical discussions with customers and partner organisations.
• Interact with the Systems Engineering Integration Team and transverse disciplines.
