Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a graduate engineer to contribute to the Gibbs & Cox Australia team by delivering naval and maritime design outcomes. You will work with a team of naval architects, engineers and maritime specialists to support ship design, engineering systems, and sustainment across programs.

You will learn and apply engineering fundamentals to practical design challenges, build CAD models in AutoCAD, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver meaningful outcomes for Australia’s

Qualifications

• Completed or near-completed Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture or related engineering.
• Strong interest in naval, maritime or Defence engineering with a career in the sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drawing and modelling with high quality and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applying engineering fundamentals to practical design.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, willing to learn and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of naval and maritime platforms, systems and engineering solutions.
• Support the development of engineering analysis, calculations, modelling, technical drawings, documents and reviews under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Work collaboratively across naval architecture, mechanical, electrical, systems and other engineering disciplines to solve technical problems and develop practical design solutions.
• Build your technical capability through exposure to complex maritime projects, customers and the broader engineering lifecycle.
