Job summary

Leidos Australia seeks a Naval/Mechanical Engineer to contribute to naval and maritime platform design and engineering solutions. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop analyses, calculations, and technical drawings under experienced engineers, and build capability across complex maritime projects within the Gibbs & Cox Australia team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or near-complete).
• Strong interest in naval, maritime or Defence engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drawing and modelling with high attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of naval and maritime platforms, systems and engineering solutions.
• Support the development of engineering analysis, calculations, modelling, technical drawings, documents and reviews under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Work collaboratively across naval architecture, mechanical, electrical, systems and other engineering disciplines to solve technical problems and develop practical design solutions.
• Build your technical capability through exposure to complex maritime projects, customers and the broader engineering lifecycle.
