Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to our Gibbs & Cox Australia team, delivering capable maritime engineering outcomes. You will review technical deliverables, manage system changes, and work with Commonwealth, Navy and industry stakeholders to influence project decisions.

We value strong systems engineering expertise, requirements management, and the ability to operate independently in a Defence environment.

Qualifications

• Strong systems engineering and organisational capability in complex programmes, preferably maritime or naval.
• Experience in requirements management, engineering change management, or V&V.
• Knowledge of ship design, build and operations and their technical implications.
• Excellent technical judgement and communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently in a Defence environment with limited guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise, review deliverables and advise on issues.
• Coordinate systems change across the ship design and data management.
• Support risk management, design verification and validation.
• Engage with Commonwealth, Navy and industry stakeholders.
• Support design integration and programme delivery.
