Qualifications

• Substantial leadership experience within higher education, research infrastructure or a related sector.
• Significant knowledge of technical services and workforce development in research environments.
• Proven ability to lead complex programmes with strategy, governance, budgets, risk management and outcomes.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across universities, government, funders, industry and professional bodies.
• Exceptional communication, engagement and advocacy skills for national forums.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and improving outcomes for technical professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the establishment and growth of the Technician Commitment in Australia.
• Establish and support the Australian Technician Commitment Steering Board with governance and engagement.
• Lead and develop the Australian Technician Commitment team and foster a high-performing culture.
• Build relationships with senior leaders across universities, government, funders and industry to grow participation.
• Oversee delivery of key activities including Self-Assessment, Collaboration Fund, national events.
• Represent the programme nationally and internationally to raise visibility and sustainability.
