Macquarie University in North Ryde is seeking an NS&D Officer to support compliance and governance around national security requirements. You will assist with due diligence, DISP, and committee administration, providing accurate advice and administration in a small expert team.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret legislative requirements and guidance.
• Experience coordinating meetings, including agendas, materials and minute taking.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; SharePoint intranet and website publishing a plus.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with accuracy and discretion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
• Desirable: experience in higher education, government or legal sectors; knowledge of national security compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support the University's compliance with the Foreign Arrangements Scheme under the guidance of the Due Diligence Coordinator and Manager, including advising staff and auditing reports.
• Assist with national security due diligence and DISP compliance activities and committee support.
• Coordinate rollout of e-learning modules and training sessions for the team.
• Provide secretariat support for meetings: invites, room bookings, materials, minutes and follow-up actions.
• Respond to staff inquiries on NS&D processes and point to NS&D resources.
• Maintain the team's record-keeping and reporting documents and update guidance materials.
• Assist with research, reference gathering and summarising background information.
• Collaborate with the NS&D team and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
