National Sales Manager – Primary Care | Australia
An opportunity to lead, build and shape a new national sales team within an exciting cardiometabolic portfolio.
The opportunity
DKSH Healthcare Australia partners with pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to deliver commercial growth through specialist sales teams, healthcare professional engagement and patient solutions. Combining local expertise with the backing of a global organisation, we bring an agile, collaborative approach to meeting our clients’ evolving needs.
Our culture combines high performance with empowerment, accountability and support. We value people who take ownership, respond quickly and work together to deliver meaningful results. Strong client engagement is central to how we operate—understanding our partners’ priorities, building trusted relationships and translating strategy into action.
As National Sales Manager, you’ll bring this approach to a newly established national contract sales team representing a leading global pharmaceutical company in cardiometabolic health. Leading through Regional Sales Managers, you’ll drive strong customer engagement, consistent field execution and commercial results across primary care.
You’ll rapidly mobilise the team, accelerate capability through focused onboarding and coaching, and establish clear priorities and performance standards. This is an opportunity to shape a team from the outset, embedding a cohesive, high-performance culture while building a strong and responsive client partnership.
Key responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop Regional Sales Managers, building leadership capability and delivering national sales objectives.
Translate commercial strategy into regional business plans, territory priorities and measurable performance targets.
Drive recruitment, focused onboarding and team readiness to accelerate effective field execution.
Embed a high-performance culture through clear expectations, regular coaching, performance reviews and talent development.
Use sales data, CRM insights, market trends and competitor activity to improve field effectiveness and identify growth opportunities.
Build strong stakeholder and client partnerships, aligning priorities and coordinating execution across regions and business functions.
Provide senior stakeholders with clear performance updates, commercial insights and recommendations.
Ensure all sales activities meet pharmaceutical industry codes, company policies and compliance requirements.
About you
You’re a commercially driven sales leader who can rapidly mobilise a high-performing national contract sales team and build the capability needed to deliver results from the outset. Through focused onboarding, hands‑on coaching and clear expectations, you’ll ensure the team gets up to speed quickly while establishing a strong culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance. You’ll empower Regional Sales Managers to drive consistent execution, maintain momentum and deliver against client objectives.
You’ll ideally bring:
Significant sales leadership experience in pharmaceuticals, healthcare or another complex, performance‑driven environment.
Experience leading through managers and delivering results across multiple regions.
A track record of building high‑performing teams, developing talent and leading through change.
Strong commercial, analytical and strategic planning skills, translating data and market insights into action.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
A collaborative, adaptable leadership style and commitment to ethical practice and compliance.
Pharmaceutical sales leadership experience will be highly regarded, particularly within primary care or a specialist therapeutic area. We’re also interested in senior commercial leaders with transferable experience who can demonstrate strong people leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to build successful sales organisations.
This role will require national travel, along with full Australian working rights and a current Australian driver’s licence.
This is a rare opportunity to take on a pivotal leadership role at the beginning of a new national sales team build.
