Job summary

The Department of Defence is seeking an APS6 National Resource Coordinator to coordinate financial, procurement, resource and project management across Fleet Support Unit – Australia. Reporting to the Deputy Director Resources, you will lead a small national team, set priorities and establish consistent national practices to support Navy priorities.

You will manage the annual budget build, consolidate regional funding, monitor expenditure and provide national forecasts and advice.

Qualifications

• Experience in resource coordination and financial management.
• Ability to forecast expenditure and manage budgets.
• Experience coordinating procurement and translating regional needs into national priorities.
• Strong judgement and analytical skills with governance knowledge.
• Defence/government sector experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual budget build and consolidate regional funding.
• Monitor expenditure and prepare national forecasts and advice.
• Oversee financial records, reconciliation and compliance activities.
• Coordinate procurement and provide guidance on financial procedures and governance.
• Resolve complex enquiries and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
• Develop team capability through coaching and knowledge sharing.
