The Australian Department of Defence – Garden Island NSW is seeking an APS 6 Finance Advisor to guide a small, dynamic team and provide strategic financial advice to key clients, both uniformed and civilian.

You will identify financial risks and opportunities, understand cost drivers affecting capability, and forecast year-end results while communicating complex data clearly and using technology to enable smarter, more efficient ways of working.

Defence Finance Group (DFG) is seeking experienced and enthusiastic finance professionals to join the Maritime Sustainment finance team for a current vacancy in Garden Island, Sydney - NSW.

The APS 6 Finance Advisor is a customer-facing role who will guide a small and dynamic team in the provision of strategic financial advice to key clients, both uniformed and civilian.

The Finance Advisor will also assist clients in the identification of financial risks and opportunities, understanding of cost drivers and impacts on capability, and forecasting of End of Financial Year achievement.
You have strong communication skills and client engagement capabilities, and you are naturally suited to explaining complex financial information to a broad range of clients. You enjoy learning about the people and business areas you support, are committed to learning and enjoy using technology to enable smarter, more efficient ways of working.

We are a small and dynamic team working collaboratively with our clients within Navy and the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). The Maritime Finance teams are regionally dispersed around Australia, supporting internal and external clients across the organisation, and are dedicated to the provision of high quality financial services.

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a passion for finance/accounting work, who can operate independently under broad direction to perform and achieve complex financial management work within an integrated workforce.
