Job summary

SoundBay is seeking an experienced Head of Retail to drive performance across its national store network. This senior role leads store managers, shapes the retail strategy and ensures strong commercial outcomes across profitability, margins and labour productivity.

The role requires exceptional leadership, financial acumen and the ability to develop leaders while delivering measurable results. Travel interstate may be required to maintain a national presence.

Qualifications

• Senior multi-site retail leadership experience across a dispersed network.
• Proven accountability for profitability, budgets and margins.
• Ability to lead, develop and hold leaders accountable.
• Strong strategy, workforce planning and performance management skills.
• Understanding of customer experience in specialty retail.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the national retail strategy to drive profitability and growth.
• Lead Store Managers and hold them accountable for performance and standards.
• Plan workforce and rostering to meet demand and budgets.
• Drive inventory integrity, loss prevention and margin discipline.
• Oversee customer experience, merchandising and store presentation across the network.
• Foster cross-functional partnerships with Finance, People & Culture, Marketing, Online, Purchasing, Logistics and IT.
• Lead network development including new stores and acquisitions.
• Provide leadership with insights and accountability for retail performance.
