Job summary

Statewide Building & Restorations Group in Melbourne, VIC, is seeking an experienced National Desktop Estimator (Insurance) to lead our desktop estimating function. You will start hands-on, then build and lead a national team while ensuring accurate estimates, compliance, and timely claim outcomes.

The role requires expertise in ENData or similar platforms, strong leadership, and collaboration with insurers and assessors. The office is based in Epping with 1–2 days weekly on-site attendance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in the insurance building industry.
• Proven estimating experience on ENData, Crunchworks or similar platform.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with team accountability.
• Confident verbal communication and negotiation with customers and industry professionals.
• Excellent time management in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and scope accuracy.
• Prepare desktop estimates for insurance reinstatement claims using virtual assessment tools, site imagery and assessor reports.
• Validate builder and trade costs against scope, market rates and policy coverage.
• Reset scopes where they're inaccurate, inflated or out of line with the claim.
• Manage estimating claims from submission through to completion.
• Coach estimators in scoping accuracy, compliance, virtual assessment techniques and software.
