Job summary

Maranoa Regional Council in Surat, Queensland is seeking a Plant Operator/Labourer to safely operate and maintain a range of plant and equipment supporting road networks and council assets.

You will perform daily servicing, assist with building and maintaining sealed and unsealed roads, and contribute to a safe, multi-skilled team across the region. This permanent, full-time role offers 9-day fortnights and generous leave entitlements.

• Experience operating plant and equipment in civil construction, road maintenance or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant, equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Council procedures.
• Perform daily servicing and maintenance checks to ensure plant remains safe, reliable and operational.
• Assist with the construction and maintenance of sealed and unsealed roads and other Council assets.
• Undertake general labouring duties as part of a multi‑skilled team.
• Carry out site preparation, clean‑up and general maintenance activities.
• Set up, maintain and remove traffic control signage in accordance with approved traffic management plans.
• Operate hand‑held power tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Complete required inspections, records, checklists and documentation.
