Job summary

Amtan Medical Centres on the Gold Coast is seeking a motivated medical receptionist to support our Pimpama and Ormeau practices. You will help patients, coordinate appointments with GPs and nurses, and keep reception running smoothly across sites.

The role requires prior medical receptionist experience, familiarity with Best Practice and HotDoc, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical receptionist in a general practice (essential).
• Experience using Best Practice software and HotDoc (essential).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Calm, professional approach to problem-solving and patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reception areas are organised and running efficiently.
• Coordinate daily reception workflows including opening/closing procedures.
• Monitor appointment books and assist with GP and nurse scheduling.
• Assist with Medicare, billing, and patient account enquiries.
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality.
• Handle referrals, recalls, reminders, and correspondence promptly.
• Perform general reception and administrative duties.
