Job summary

The University of Sydney's Save Sight Institute invites a part-time Research Assistant to contribute to a major MS neuroimaging study, focusing on MRI data processing, Python-based pipelines, and study coordination.

You will work with MRI software (FSL, ANTs, FreeSurfer, MRtrix) and large longitudinal MS data, performing data management, quality control, and reproducible reporting to support downstream analysis.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working with MRI analysis pipelines and neuroimaging software.
• Proficiency in Python and command-line environments for data processing.
• Strong data management, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of a large-scale multiple sclerosis neuroimaging study, ensuring activities are completed on time.
• Manage and process complex longitudinal clinical and MRI datasets, including data extraction and quality control.
• Execute and maintain MRI preprocessing and analysis pipelines across collaborating sites.
• Write Python and shell scripts to automate data extraction and generate reproducible outputs.
• Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and external partners to support study operations.
• Prepare and maintain study documentation, ethics records, and project deliverables.
• Support administrative and operational requirements of the research program.
