Job summary

NSW Health at Nepean Hospital is seeking a reliable Casual Motor Vehicle Driver to support the Central Sterilising Services Department. You will safely collect and deliver sterilised instruments between Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Hospitals, ensuring timely access for clinical teams.

The role requires an unrestricted MR licence for NSW, a willingness to travel, and the ability to perform daily vehicle checks. Excellent communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid unrestricted MR Driver's Licence for use in NSW.
• Willingness to travel between NBMLHD facilities in the course of employment.
• Ability to perform routine daily vehicle checks with accurate documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
• Understanding of WHS and manual handling for safety.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely collect and deliver sterilised surgical instruments and equipment between Nepean Hospital, Blue Mountains Hospital and Lithgow Hospital.
• Undertake additional transport and delivery duties as required to support operational needs.

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Casual Motor Vehicle Driver to support the Central Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) at Nepean Hospital.

In this important role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of sterilised surgical instruments and equipment between Nepean Hospital, Blue Mountains Hospital and Lithgow Hospital. Your contribution will help ensure clinical teams have access to the instruments they need to provide high‑quality patient care.

What you will bring to the role

• Valid unrestricted MR drivers’ licence for use in NSW and willingness to travel in the course of employment
• General knowledge and ability to perform routine vehicle checks on a daily basis, including accurate documentation
• Good understanding of the Standards and Infection Prevention and Control requirements for handling and transporting sterile and contaminated medical instruments
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously or as part of a team and the flexibility to adjust the routine and schedule with changing, urgent priorities
• Understanding of WHS and ability to perform manual handling tasks for own and others safety.
• Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing good customer service.
• Flexibility to be able to change working hours according to the service delivery needs.
