Budget Direct is seeking a Motor Assessor to join their Melbourne assessment centres in Altona and Sunshine. The role involves managing vehicle repairs, assessing damage, and producing accurate quotes while ensuring safety and cost-effectiveness.

Ideal candidates hold a Cert III in Panel Beating or Automotive Spray-Painting and can work in fast-paced environments. The job includes a competitive package, training, and benefits across offices nationwide.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Panel Beating or Automotive Spray-Painting is essential.
• Computer/technology competence (skills testing may be required).
• Ability to thrive in fast paced high pressure environments and ambition to grow alongside the business.
• Ability to prepare damage repair quotes and estimations (training provided).
• You will be required to complete background checks and proof of full working rights in Australia to work in Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage to determine safe, cost-effective repairs.
• Provide excellent service to customers on the phone and in person.
• Undertake vehicle assessments per underwriting terms and claims protocols.
• Write accurate assessment reports and negotiate repair scopes and costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with the smash repair industry and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Motor Assessing Manager, the Motor Assessor's primary responsibility is to manage vehicle repairs, ensuring they are safe, cost-effective and completed in a timely manner, while adhering to all A & G policies and guidelines.

• Accurately assess vehicle damage to determine cost effective and safe repairs using the correct repair method.
• Provide excellent service to our customers both on the phone and in person.
• Undertaking vehicle assessments in line with underwriting terms & conditions & claims protocols.
• Writing accurate assessment reports, negotiating correct scope & costs for vehicle repairs
• Build and maintain professional relationships with the smash repair industry and other stakeholders
