Job summary

Hfinance, a growing Australian mortgage broking practice, seeks an Operations Manager to lead the onshore and offshore operations team, boost efficiency and drive growth strategy. The role requires a proven credit background and strong governance across NCCP and aggregator requirements.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years in Australian mortgage lending, experience with broker CRMs and ApplyOnline, and be capable of guiding a team to meet service levels and volume targets while maintaining

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in the Australian mortgage broking or lending industry.
• Proven credit background, including assessing Australian mortgage applications through to settlement.
• Track record of managing lodgement and settlement pipelines and growing volumes.
• Experience with broker CRMs, aggregator platforms, ApplyOnline, servicing calculators and Microsoft 365.
• Experience leading a team, ideally including offshore or remote staff.
• Adaptable, works independently and does not need micromanagement.
• Trustworthy and discreet with client and business information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to manage different personalities and hold people accountable fairly.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach the operations team (onshore and offshore), holding them accountable to service levels, turnaround times and quality.
• Set daily priorities, run stand-ups and WIP reviews, and manage onboarding, training and performance.
• Own the loan workflow from fact find to settlement; track every deal in the CRM and clear bottlenecks early.
• Review Australian mortgage applications for completeness, servicing and policy fit before lodgement.
• Grow lodgement, approval and settlement volumes against targets.
• Maintain and improve credit advice processes, checklists and templates.
• Ensure files meet NCCP, Best Interests Duty and aggregator compliance requirements.
• Report weekly and monthly to the Director, drive KPIs across the business and contribute to growth strategy.
