Job summary

New Venture Recruitment seeks an Engineer – Prefabrication for a mechanical services contractor in Sydney. You will support development and delivery of prefabricated solutions across a growing project portfolio, with emphasis on design coordination and fabrication.

The role offers exposure to prefabrication and modular construction, and integration with BIM tools such as Revit and Tekla. Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in structural steel, mechanical services or construction engineering with

Qualifications

• Degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years' experience in structural steel, mechanical services or construction engineering.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, design coordination and technical documentation.
• Experience with BIM and/or steel detailing software (Revit, Tekla, Inventor) is advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop prefabrication and modular construction concepts and solutions.
• Prepare preliminary design sketches, schedules and technical documents.
• Coordinate with BIM, drafting and detailing teams for shop drawings.
• Review steel detailing and drawings for compliance with design intent.
• Support tendering activities and procurement coordination.
• Monitor fabrication progress and quality against project requirements.
• Provide technical support across workshop, site and delivery activities.
• Contribute to quality management, safety assessments and continuous improvement.
