Job summary

Leidos’s Digital Modernization Sector seeks a Design Engineer (CAN/LAN) to support a global enterprise network for a government customer. The role focuses on interpreting requirements, documenting designs, and delivering secure CAN/LAN solutions aligned with DISA STIGs.

Qualifications

• Experience in network engineering including production network design.
• Experience with Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper hardware.
• Hands-on with OSPF/BGP routing protocols.
• Hands-on with VLANs, 802.1q, and port-channels.
• Ability to document designs with diagrams and BOMs.
• Active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret requirements and document CAN/LAN designs with diagrams and BOMs.
• Use a private test lab to evaluate technologies and reproduce issues.
• Schedule maintenance windows with minimal data-flow impact.
• Provide technical support to Operations engineers and technicians.
• Develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and obtain ATO.
• Supervise (not manage) other network specialists.
• Improve design processes and learn MPLS WANs.
