Job summary

City of Moreton Bay is seeking a site-based civil construction lead to coordinate daily on-site activities and deliver defined work packages across multiple sites. You will lead crews, ensure safety, quality and efficiency, and support larger projects when required.

Ideal applicants have civil construction qualifications, strong site leadership, and a practical understanding of drawings, WHS, and reporting. A commuter vehicle is available, and networking with the team is encouraged.

  • Civil construction qualifications or certifications relevant to this role, or equivalent experience in civil construction.
  • Construction Induction Card.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver minor civil construction works and assigned activities on site.
  • Oversee components of larger projects and coordinate with the broader team.
  • Assist with planning and coordination of daily on-site works, optimise labour, plant and materials.
  • Monitor progress, workmanship and safety outcomes and report risks to the Construction Team Leader.
  • Maintain site records, work diaries and basic reporting requirements.
  • Support leaders with site coordination, problem solving and issue resolution.

Job description

  • $87,301 pa + 12% super (level 3) - effective 1 July + a commuter use vehicle
  • 76 hour fortnight
  • Location: Site based with a home depot location allocated - please note, whilst this position has an allocated home depot location of Caboolture, the work will be based across various sites within the City of Moreton Bay area and you will typically start and finish on the job site.

This position is responsible for the on site delivery of minor civil construction works, while also contributing to larger construction projects through the delivery of defined activities and work packages.

Taking the lead on site, you'll work alongside the crew to coordinate daily activities, provide practical direction and support, and help deliver works safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

  • Leading and delivering minor civil construction works and assigned activities
  • Contributing to larger construction projects by overseeing defined components of work and collaborating with the broader team to support coordinated delivery
  • Assisting with the planning and coordination of daily on site works, ensuring the effective use of labour, plant and materials within the agreed scope
  • Monitoring progress, workmanship and safety outcomes for allocated works, and reporting emerging risks or issues to the Construction Team Leader
  • Maintaining site records, work diaries and basic reporting requirements
  • Supporting leaders with site coordination, problem solving and issue resolution as required

You have experience delivering civil construction works and taking the lead on site, with a practical understanding of construction methodologies and day to day site delivery.

You'll also bring:

  • Working knowledge of civil construction materials, plant, equipment and methodologies
  • The ability to interpret construction drawings and maintain accurate site records
  • Practical experience coordinating day-to-day site activities and providing clear direction to crews
  • A strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices
  • Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills suited to a site based leadership role.
