Job summary

HVO is seeking a Training Officer to deliver and support training and competency programs across a large open cut mining site in NSW. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, maintain training records in the LMS, and continuously improve training materials and resources.

You will work with the Training Coordinator, Superintendents and supervisors to implement training and compliance plans, mentor staff, and drive a safety-first learning culture within the site.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) is required.
• Experience as Training Officer, Trainer and Assessor in an industrial/mining environment.
• Strong focus on quality training systems and competency-based training.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and better training outcomes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to work independently and in a high-performing team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Proactive problem-solving and improvement mindset.
• High computer literacy with LMS, training databases, and MS Office.
• Commitment to safety and positive workplace culture.
• Experience developing or improving training materials.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support training and competency programs across site.
• Maintain accurate training records in LMS.
• Review and update training materials and assessments to ensure validity and currency.
• Monitor training compliance through reporting systems.
• Develop training and compliance plans with Training Coordinator and stakeholders.
• Coach and mentor workforce development across the business.
• Assist with continuous improvement of training systems, processes and learning programs.
