Job summary

Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation in the Hunter Valley, NSW, seeks an experienced Training Coordinator to lead the Health, Safety & Training Team and deliver compliant, best‑practice training programs that support safe, efficient site operations.

You will develop and map training packages to recognised competencies, manage learning materials, run in‑class sessions, maintain the site skills matrix and training plans, and mentor Trainers and Assessors.

Qualifications

• Lead and develop a high performing training team.
• Experience in project-based training needs analysis and skills matrices.
• Strong administrative skills and familiarity with LMS/online training platforms.
• Ability to map training packages to recognised competencies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with operational leads to schedule and deliver training.
• Ensure training programs comply with health and safety management systems and legislation.
• Monitor, analyse and report on training deliverables.
• Develop or source training programs to meet needs and keep materials current.
• Create and review learning and assessment materials.
• Deliver in-class learning and assessment.
• Maintain site Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify gaps.
• Develop and maintain the site skills matrix and training plans.
• Prepare material for annual audit schedules.
• Oversee Trainers and Assessors and ensure adequate resourcing.
