Job summary

Glencore Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) in the Hunter Valley, NSW, seeks a Mining Supervisor to lead the Pit Services crew on a Monday–Friday dayshift, reporting to the Mining Superintendent. You will drive safety, resource management and KPI delivery while modelling strong leadership.

You will mentor teams, pursue cost efficiencies, and uphold a positive site culture with a focus on safety, integrity and collaboration at MGO.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a Mining Supervisor or similar role.
• Current NSW Open Cut Examiners Practicing Certificate (desirable).
• Experience in contractor management, crushing and water management.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pit Services crew and report to the Mining Superintendent- Pit Services.
• Ensure safety regulations are followed and KPIs met.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimise resources.

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Mining Supervisor to lead a Pit Services crew at MGO. As a Mining Supervisor, you will report to the Mining Superintendent- Pit Services working a Monday to Friday dayshift roster.

Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with big responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and develop our people, fostering a positive and safe work culture.

The main accountabilities of this role include, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, effective resource management, identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce costs and delivering agreed KPIs whilst continually maintaining and improving a safe workplace.

The requirements for success in this role include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mining Supervisor
• Current NSW Open Cut Examiners Practicing Certificate (desirable)
• Experience in contractor management, crushing and water management
• Leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
