Job summary

Glencore International AG is seeking a Mining Supervisor to lead a Pit Services crew at Mt Owen/Glendell Operations, with a Monday–Friday day shift roster in the Hunter Valley, NSW. The role emphasises safety, cost control and KPI delivery in a high‑hazard environment.

You will report to the Mining Superintendent – Pit Services, driving continuous improvement, team development and compliance with Respect at Work legislation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Mining Supervisor.
• Desirable NSW Open Cut Examiners Practising Certificate.
• Experience in contractor management, crushing and water management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a Pit Services crew on day shift and ensure safety and compliance.
• Manage resources and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Deliver KPI targets while maintaining a safe workplace.

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven Mining Supervisor to lead a Pit Services crew at MGO. As a Mining Supervisor, you will report to the Mining Superintendent- Pit Services working a Monday to Friday dayshift roster.

Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with big responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and develop our people, fostering a positive and safe work culture.

The main accountabilities of this role include, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, effective resource management, identifying and implementing opportunities to reduce costs and delivering agreed KPIs whilst continually maintaining and improving a safe workplace.

The requirements for success in this role include:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Mining Supervisor
• Current NSW Open Cut Examiners Practicing Certificate (desirable)
• Experience in contractor management, crushing and water management
• Leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
