Job summary

Decoda, part of Sime Industrial, invites engineers to join our team building an integrated sensor platform using LiDAR, camera, GNSS and IMU to support autonomous mining processes. You will design, implement, and validate software and hardware interfaces for real-time monitoring and decision support.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers and external stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable solutions across the mine life cycle, from planning to rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in software, mechatronics, electrical or computer science.
• Eligible to work in Australia.
• Experience developing, deploying and maintaining software.
• Strong programming/scripting in C++, Python, Bash.
• Experience with ROS 2.
• Strong Linux skills across development, deployment, monitoring and maintenance.
• Understanding of algorithms and optimisation.
• Ability to interface with sensor hardware (no hardware design required).

Responsibilities

• Drive continual, user-driven improvement of the platform’s infrastructure.
• Design and implement features under iterative governance.
• Use tools and processes to develop, document, and validate solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product managers and external stakeholders.
• Prioritise tasks and manage time effectively with rigorous research.
• Support real-time monitoring and insights for site conditions and hazards.
• Ensure robust secure communication across networks.
• Contribute to deployment and integration of sensor data.
