Job summary

RCT Powered by Epiroc is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to design and develop software and hardware for mining and industrial applications. You’ll work across the full lifecycle from requirements and design to implementation, testing, release and support.

The role involves developing software for embedded systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to design reviews while maintaining clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in an appropriate programming language.
• Experience with Jira or similar issue/time management tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to work.
• Good time management and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation.
• Collaborative across teams and open to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for embedded systems in automation, control and data acquisition products.
• Participate across the full software development lifecycle from requirements to support.
• Work on resource-constrained devices with real-time constraints.
• Develop and iterate embedded software and hardware for current and next-generation products.
• Support testing using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and signal generators.
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges.
• Contribute to design reviews, planning and process improvement.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and development practices.
• Prepare clear and accurate technical documentation and project updates.
