Job summary

Harmony Australasia is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and deliver mining-related projects at the CSA Mine near Cobar. You will work with operations teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects meet technical, safety, environmental, and commercial requirements.

The role reports to the Projects Superintendent and operates on an 8/6 day roster. Candidates should have an engineering degree and mining project experience, with strong scheduling skills and knowledge

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
• Previous mining/construction project experience.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles.
• Familiarity with mining safety regulations and site procedures.
• Proficiency with scheduling and reporting tools (MS Project, Primavera).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects and project execution.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including design, procurement, and construction.
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Monitor project progress and provide daily updates including cost, schedule and risk.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Manage relationships with internal/external clients, contractors, and vendors.
• Continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture aligned with site standards
• Ensure all works comply with WHS legislation, mining regulations, and company procedures
• Participate in risk assessments, JHAs, toolbox talks, and incident investigations
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
