Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of mechanical drafting experience in mining or related industries.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling programs, especially Revit and AutoCAD.
• On-site or design-house experience with industrial/mining plant design.
• Understanding of Australian standards and regulations for mechanical drafting.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical drawings and models for mining and materials handling projects in compliance with Australian standards and regulations.
• Draft to varying levels of detail for Concept Studies, bankable feasibility studies and Detailed Design/Construction Detailing.
• Design support structures around mechanical systems using Revit as the main software package.
• Create 3D designs from complex, multi-discipline engineering concepts.
• Participate in design reviews and delegate tasks to junior staff for efficient action.
• Provide technical problem solving and advice for projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project specifications.
• Review and update technical drawings based on design changes and project requirements.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure designs meet industry best practices and safety standards.
• Maintain organised records of project designs, revisions, and documentation.
• Contribute to project planning and design discussions to optimise efficiency and functionality.
• Actively promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst the company and contract personnel.
