Job summary

The Weir Group in Perth is seeking a full-time Designer to deliver precise drafting and 3D modeling for fabrication and mounting. You will travel to sites for measurements and interface with the Weir Mining Australia team to ensure accurate outputs that drive project milestones and safety standards.

You will bring a Cert 4 Technical Drafting or equivalent, proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, and knowledge of fabrication processes, with experience in Unigraphics NX, Teamcenter or AutoCAD as

Qualifications

• Must have Cert 4 Technical Drafting or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in CAD packages for drafting, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
• Good knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, rubber molding, and related manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of Australian and ISO drafting standards.
• Nice-to-haves: experience with Unigraphics NX, Teamcenter, and AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D modeling software Geomagic and Wrap; strong time management and deadline discipline.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and Design: Produce accurate drawings for fabrication and assembly and develop sectional drawings from scanned parts.
• 3D Modeling and Scanning: Create 3D scanned models to support reverse engineering and trials.
• Site Assessments and Measurements: Travel to sites for precise data collection and design validation.
• Collaboration and Interface: Liaise between Weir Mining Australia and external parties for drafting outputs.
• Performance and Timeliness: Deliver outputs on time to support project milestones.
• Safety First: Uphold zero-harm safety culture in all activities.
