Job summary

Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for the Vickery Open Cut mine near Gunnedah, NSW. You will help develop and implement internal health and safety strategies and support operations, contractors, and corporate teams.

The role offers relocation support, a 9-day fortnight roster, generous leave provisions and a collaborative culture aligned with our STRIVE values. You will participate in incident investigations and risk assessments to ensure NSW WH&S compliance.

Qualifications

Knowledge of NSW WH&S legislation and statutory requirements.
Experience with site health and safety systems and governance.
Demonstrated passion for Whitehaven STRIVE values and collaborative culture.
Experience in the mining industry is essential.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing internal health and safety strategies, plans and policies.
Facilitate or participate in incident investigations, risk assessments and management of change.
Monitor site emergency preparedness and response equipment.
Support WHS Committee meetings, pre-start and toolbox talks.
Provide ongoing compliance support to Operations, Contractors and Corporate Teams.
