Job summary

Evolution Mining is seeking a Mining Engineer to join our Cowal Operations. Based in NSW, you’ll translate mine plans into actionable schedules, targeting safe, efficient production and stakeholder alignment across geology, survey and geotechnical teams.

Working an 8:6 roster with 12-hour shifts, you’ll develop short-term plans, influence site performance, and support drill and blast design while contributing to a growing open pit operation and long-term mine plans.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 2 years in open pit mining engineering.
• Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software such as Vulcan or Surpac.

• Develop and drive short-term mine plans that support operational success.
• Influence site performance through effective stakeholder engagement.
• Support drill and blast design, scheduling and operational execution.
• Analyse production performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of mining projects from planning through to execution.

Play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia's premier open pit mining operations.

As a Mining Engineer, you'll work at the centre of operational decision making, helping translate mine plans into outcomes that drive safe, efficient and reliable production. This role offers the opportunity to develop your technical capability while building strong stakeholder relationships across operations, geology, survey and geotechnical teams.

Does this sound like you?

• Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• 2+ year’s experience in an open pit mining engineering role
• Experience in mine planning and scheduling
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
• The ability to influence outcomes and drive plans through to execution
• Experience with Deswik or similar mine planning software such as Vulcan or Surpac
• A proactive, team focused approach and commitment to safety

Experience within gold mining is welcomed, however engineers from other commodities are encouraged to apply where they have relevant open pit planning experience.
