Job summary

Peabody Energy in New South Wales' Wilpinjong Mine is seeking a Mining Engineer to join the team. You will lead short-term Load & Haul scheduling, design haul roads and loading areas, and work with operations, geology and drill & blast to align daily and weekly mine plans with longer-term strategies.

The role emphasizes safety, continuous improvement and effective communication, with a Monday–Friday roster and potential for a residential lifestyle.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Experience with mine planning and design software; Vulcan exposure is a plus.
• Open cut coal mining experience preferred.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Promote site safety and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Develop short-term Load & Haul schedules (daily to weekly).
• Design haul roads, dump locations and loading areas.
• Collaborate with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams.
• Monitor and adjust schedules based on feedback and equipment.
• Conduct regular pit inspections to validate designs.
• Provide technical support on plan implementation.
• Contribute to mine planning improvements.
