Job summary

E73 is seeking a Mining Engineer or Senior Mining Engineer to join an established open-cut coal operation in the Bowen Basin, Queensland. The role focuses on truck-and-shovel planning and close collaboration with operations to develop practical, safe, and efficient production plans.

Key responsibilities include developing short-term mine plans, producing pit designs, and monitoring performance against plan while working with Production, Drill & Blast, Geology and Survey.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Previous experience within an open-cut coal operation.
• Strong truck-and-shovel planning experience.
• Competency with relevant mine-planning software.
• Practical mindset and ability to work closely with onsite operations.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Leadership or mentoring experience will be highly regarded for the Senior-level position.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-term mine plans and schedules for truck-and-shovel operations.
• Produce pit, dump, haul-road and rehabilitation designs.
• Monitor performance against plan and respond to operational changes.
• Work closely with Production, Drill & Blast, Geology and Survey.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and compliance to plan.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the broader team.
