Dawson Mine, operated by Anglo American, is seeking motivated individuals for a four-year Apprentice Auto Electrician program in Moura. You will work with experienced tradespeople to gain hands-on skills maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment while completing a recognised qualification.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and structured training, with a focus on learning electrical schematics, diagnostics, and maintenance across site operations.

Qualifications

• Interest in automotive electrical systems and heavy equipment.
• Strong commitment to safety in a mining environment.
• Reliable, motivated and eager to learn.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team player with ability to work in a crew.
• Hold a current Driver's Licence or working towards one.
• Year 12 completion this year is preferred.
• Previous mechanical/auto/electrical experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems on mobile mining equipment.
• Learn to diagnose faults using specialised diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Support planned and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Develop ability to read electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Maintain a strong safety and environmental standards focus.
• Collaborate with experienced tradespeople and operations teams.
• Complete all apprenticeship training requirements successfully.
