Chandler Macleod is partnering with Rio Tinto to recruit an experienced Plant Controller for a 24/7 mining operation. The role involves monitoring fixed plant equipment from a central control room, using specialized software, and coordinating with on-site teams to achieve production targets.

The successful candidate will possess control room experience in mine operations, strong communication skills, and a mindset focused on safety, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Prior Control Room experience in Fixed Plant Mine Operations environment (Preferred).
• Strong communication skills and ability to multitask under pressure.
• Understanding of service delivery and value chain impacts.
• Ability to identify risks and coordinate emergency responses when required.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Hold a current drivers licence and have reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor fixed plant equipment from a central control room using specialised software and control systems.
• Maintain communication with on-site personnel and respond to system problems while meeting production targets.
• Utilise HMI/SCADA systems to optimise safety and production.
• Record downtime accurately and engage with stakeholders to improve daily, weekly and monthly targets.
• Perform administrative tasks and collate information; comply with fatigue management policies.
