Job summary

Iluka Resources seeks a self-motivated Medical and Emergency Services Officer to join the Health & Safety team at the Jacinth-Ambrosia mine site in SA. You will provide first-response medical care, manage equipment calibration, and oversee incident command.

Reporting to the Health & Safety Superintendent, you will lead the volunteer Emergency Response Team, maintain training, and develop Rescue Plans to support site safety and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent.
• Must hold a Certificate IV in Health Care.
• HLTPAT005 – Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary (first response) medical care to employees and contractors for injuries and illnesses.
• Ensure calibration status of medical equipment and record in calibration register.
• Assume incident command and lead the Emergency Response Team when required.
• Maintain readiness of the volunteer Emergency Response Team with adequate on-call numbers.
• Coordinate regular training to maintain essential rescue skills.
• Develop/review Rescue Plans for Contractor, Project, and non-standard works.
• Monitor fitness for work programs, including drugs and alcohol considerations.
• Own and develop site Rescue Plans (TARP, Confined Space, Contractor, Project).
• Provide expert advice to improve medical and emergency resources in line with site development.
