Job summary

JBS Prime City Feedlot in southern NSW is seeking a Mill Foreperson to join the leadership team. You will oversee feeding and milling operations, manage feed receival, storage, and inventory, ensure grain processing meets standards, and maintain ration data to support cattle performance.

You will lead and develop the mill team, monitor stocktakes, and uphold WHS, QA, Animal Welfare and environmental requirements across operations.

• A strong interest in animal nutrition, ration processing and feed delivery.
• Good record-keeping skills and confidence using computer-based systems.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and use initiative.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members at all levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A motivated, hands-on approach and commitment to achieving high standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day feeding and milling operations to meet targets.
• Oversee receival, storage and inventory management of feed commodities.

Job description

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Mill Foreperson to join our leadership team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will help oversee the day-to-day feeding and milling operations, with a strong focus on cattle nutrition, feed allocation and feed delivery to ensure operational targets are achieved. You will oversee the receival, storage and inventory management of feed commodities, ensure grain is processed to the required standards to support optimal cattle performance, and maintain accurate and timely commodity and ration data.

You will also play an important role in leading, engaging and developing the mill and feeding team, while monitoring inventory through regular stocktakes and audits. With feeding operations having a direct impact on cattle health, nutrition and performance, you will help ensure feed is produced and delivered safely, accurately and consistently, while maintaining compliance with JBS Australia’s WHS, HR, Quality Assurance, Animal Welfare and Environmental requirements.

Located 45km north-west of Griffith in southern NSW, the JBS Prime City Feedlot is a 35,000 head capacity feedlot and a major supplier to the JBS Riverina Beef processing facility. Employing approximately 35 team members, Prime City Feedlot has a strong reputation for producing premium quality grain-fed beef. The 6,225 ha of dryland and irrigation farm onsite at Prime City supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.
