Job summary

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is seeking an experienced Mill Foreperson to join our leadership team in a full-time capacity near Griffith, NSW. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will oversee milling and feeding operations, focusing on cattle nutrition, feed allocation and timely delivery to meet targets.

You will also lead the mill and feeding team, ensuring accurate stock control and compliance with safety and quality standards, while fostering a proactive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous feedlot milling and feeding experience is required.
• Strong interest in animal nutrition, ration processing and feed delivery.
• Good record-keeping skills and confidence using computer-based systems.
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work proactively and use initiative.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with team members at all levels.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A motivated, hands-on approach and commitment to achieving high standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day milling and feeding operations to meet production targets.
• Manage feed allocation and delivery to support cattle performance.
• Oversee receival, storage and inventory management of feed commodities.
• Ensure grain processing meets required standards and maintain accurate data.
• Lead, engage and develop the mill and feeding team; conduct regular stocktakes and audits.
• Ensure safety and compliance with WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare and Environmental policies.

Job description

The JBS Prime City Feedlot is currently recruiting an experienced Mill Foreperson to join our leadership team in a full-time capacity. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor, you will help oversee the day-to-day feeding and milling operations, with a strong focus on cattle nutrition, feed allocation and feed delivery to ensure operational targets are achieved. You will oversee the receival, storage and inventory management of feed commodities, ensure grain is processed to the required standards to support optimal cattle performance, and maintain accurate and timely commodity and ration data.

You will also play an important role in leading, engaging and developing the mill and feeding team, while monitoring inventory through regular stocktakes and audits. With feeding operations having a direct impact on cattle health, nutrition and performance, you will help ensure feed is produced and delivered safely, accurately and consistently, while maintaining compliance with JBS Australia's WHS, HR, Quality Assurance, Animal Welfare and Environmental requirements.

About You

Located 45km north-west of Griffith in southern NSW, the JBS Prime City Feedlot is a 35,000 head capacity feedlot and a major supplier to the JBS Riverina Beef processing facility. Employing approximately 35 team members, Prime City Feedlot has a strong reputation for producing premium quality grain-fed beef. The 6,225 ha of dryland and irrigation farm onsite at Prime City supplies the grain, silage and hay required for the cattle in the feedlot.
