Job summary

JBS Australia’s Beef City Feedlot is seeking a hands‑on Feed Mill Operator in Queensland to ensure grain is processed safely and efficiently. You will run and monitor milling equipment, manage inventory and monitor water quality to support livestock performance.

You will perform pre‑start checks, work autonomously within a small team, and participate in shift handovers with a focus on safety and accuracy. A full‑time role with relocation and training opportunities is offered.

Qualifications

• Intermediate Boiler Operators Certificate is required or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in grain receival, handling, processing and steam flaking milling preferred.
• Mechanical/process minded with ability to be methodical and identify irregularities.
• Clear and concise communication skills; basic computer skills and record keeping.

Job description

The JBS Beef City Feedlot is looking for a Feed Mill Operator to join the team. In this hands‑on role, you'll help ensure grain is processed safely, efficiently and to the required standard to support the feeding program and livestock performance.

Day‑to‑day, you'll carry out pre‑start checks on machinery, operate and monitor grain processing equipment, keep track of inventory levels, monitor water quality and work closely with other Feed Mill Operators to ensure smooth shift handovers and daily operations run as planned.

• Full‑time position
• 8‑days on / 6‑days off (80‑hour fortnight)
• Starting rate for this role is $37 per hour

About You

• Current Intermediate Boiler Operators Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Experience in grain receival, handling, processing and steam flaking milling preferred
• Mechanically/process minded with the ability to be methodical and identify irregularities
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Basic computer skills and methodical record keeping skills required
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with limited supervision as part of a small team
• Must have a good work ethic and be able to take and follow instruction
