Job summary

Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong seeks a permanent full-time Middle Leader to lead the PD/H/PE faculty and support school leadership in aligning with the Catholic mission. The role focuses on faith growth and student learning, starting 28 January 2027, within a NSW school community.

The successful applicant will work under the principal to implement vision, strengthen pedagogy, and manage curriculum across the KLA, ensuring compliance with NESA and accreditation requirements.

Job description

A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in the PD/H/PE faculty.

The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:

• Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
• Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
• Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
• Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
• Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant KLA.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses of PD/H/PE to HSC Level.
• Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
• NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.
