Job summary

Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong – Albion Park NSW is seeking a permanent full-time Middle Leader to support the principal in implementing the school’s vision and mission. You will also provide pastoral and learning support for a selected year group and teach core subjects.

A permanent full time position commencing 28 January 2027. The successful applicant will be required to teach in one of the following subjects; PD/H/PE, Religious Educaiton, TAS, CAPA or Science and will provide pastoral and learning support for a selected year group.

The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.

ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA

The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:

• A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
• A commitment to promoting and embedding the school’s values in pastoral programs and practices.
• A strong understanding of contemporary approaches to student well-being and management.
• The demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with staff.
• The demonstrated ability to support students with challenging behaviours.
• The demonstrated ability to build a positive learning culture of high expectations for all with an emphasis on differentiated learning to meet the holistic needs of all students.
• The ability to use data to discern the individual needs of students and be able to source appropriate support.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Appropriate qualifications for teaching.
• Appropriate additional qualifications or experience in a relevant area.
• Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
• NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.

This role is classified as a child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.
