Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in robotics controls and developing control algorithms for robotic systems.
• Familiarity with robotic hardware platforms, PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron), sensors, and actuators.
• Solid understanding of control theory, including PID, state-space, and adaptive control.
• Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills for cross-functional teams.

We're seeking a skilled and dynamic mid-senior Controls Engineer to join our team with a minimum of 4+ years of industry experience at Applied Robotics. You will play a critical role in development, implementation, programming, testing and commissioning of bespoke automation and robotic cells. Your experience will contribute to the design, optimisation, and performance systems, enabling us to deliver transformative solutions to our partners and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and optimise control algorithms for bespoke systems. 3+ years' experience with programming Industrial robots is desirable
• Design and integrate control systems for real-time operation, ensuring precise and efficient movement, sensing, and interaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical design engineers, control engineers, and the production teams, to ensure seamless integration into our bespoke robotic automation & control systems.
• Conduct simulations and testing to validate control algorithms, mechanical design, manipulator suitability and optimise performance to meet cycle time commitments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, ensuring smooth operation and reliability.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in robotics controls across multiple vendor platforms and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Document design processes, specifications, and develop technical reports.
