Job summary

Parliament of NSW is seeking a Microsoft 365 Support Specialist to administer and optimise Microsoft 365 services across NSW Parliament. You will provide advanced hands-on support for Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and related Microsoft cloud technologies from our Sydney CBD base.

The role emphasises security, reliability and alignment with business needs, contributing to governance, lifecycle planning and user adoption for a modern digital workplace.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and resolving complex issues.
  • Experience implementing and improving Microsoft 365 services across an organisation.
  • ITIL practices and service management awareness.
  • On-call roster participation may be required.

  • Administer and continuously improve Microsoft 365 support services.
  • Provide advanced hands-on expertise across Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.

Job description

  • Responsible for the administration and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 support services.
  • Ongoing full-time - Sydney CBD based.
  • $116,981 to $129,492 per annum, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
About the role:

The Microsoft 365 Support Specialist is the technical subject matter expert responsible for the administration, optimisation, support and continuous improvement of Microsoft 365 services across NSW Parliament. The role provides advanced hands‑on expertise across Microsoft Outlook, Exchange Online, Teams collaboration and telephony, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office applications and associated Microsoft cloud technologies.

The position ensures Microsoft 365 services are secure, reliable, integrated and aligned to business needs, enabling productive and modern digital ways of working for Members, their staff, electorate offices, and Parliamentary departments. This role also contributes to platform governance, lifecycle planning, user adoption and the strategic uplift of workplace technology capabilities across Parliament.

Based in NSW Parliament, the Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is a specialist service department working to support the operation of the Parliament of NSW by providing logistical support and advice to members, the Departments of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly and the people of New South Wales. Our office is found close to public transport in the heart of Macquarie Street CBD, next to the State Library and Sydney’s Botanic Gardens.

About you

In this role you would require significant experience supporting and resolving issues associated with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and SharePoint. Demonstrated experience resolving complex and multifaceted user access, collaboration and integration issues with Microsoft 365 features. Sound understanding and application experience in Microsoft cloud environments and administrative tools such as Microsoft 365 admin centre and Teams/SharePoint management portals. Experience with device and user support and demonstrated experience in developing and documenting operating procedures and self‑help resources for digital workplace users.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Business Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a software support environment.
  • Certification in ITIL Foundation in service management practices.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in an “on‑call” roster for coverage on Parliament Sitting Days.
