Job summary

Exclaim IT is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Migration Specialist to lead a large-scale migration from on-premises file servers to Microsoft 365 in Brisbane, Queensland. You will plan, coordinate and execute migration waves, ensure data integrity and security, and minimise disruption for end users.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for migration projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to plan and coordinate multiple migration waves and batches.
• Experience with NTFS/SharePoint/M365 permissions and access controls.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute data migration activities, including waves and batches.
• Conduct pre-migration assessments to identify data quality issues and unsupported file types.
• Configure and operate enterprise migration tools like ShareGate or SharePoint Migration Manager.
• Migrate data from on-premises file shares to Microsoft 365.
• Perform post-migration validation and data integrity checks.
• Troubleshoot migration failures, permissions issues and migration exceptions.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate tasks.
• Leverage Microsoft Graph and APIs for automation.
• Monitor progress and prepare reports and dashboards.
• Manage permissions mapping across NTFS, SharePoint and M365.
• Support user/group management with Microsoft Entra ID.
• Create technical documentation and migration procedures.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
